Cedars
Cedars is an over 60’s network that meets monthly for friendship and fellowship. Our name is inspired by Psalm 92:12-14: “The righteous will grow like a cedar of Lebanon. They will bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming the Lord is upright. He is my rock.”
Psalm 92 invites us to consider what faith looks like in the later decades of life – and Cedars is committed to this vision of lifelong fruitfulness and faithfulness.
Our monthly events include a variety of activities such as guest speakers, arts and crafts, flower growing, story-telling - all with a choice of teas/coffees and only the best home-made cakes!

In addition we encourage connection outside the meetings and undertake home visits for people who would appreciate some additional care and support.
Here are some comments from both volunteers and guests:
Ann “I am not a lonely person, but I am alone. I help with Cedars to enjoy fellowship and social activity with others. I also enjoy helping others to socialise. ”
Doreen: “My husband and I always enjoyed Cedars and when he had Parkinsons he was made to feel very welcome and included. I’ve been coming now for 9 years, the people are so friendly, I like the company and also the lunches!”
Everyone over 60 is welcome at Cedars, come along and give it a try!
